About The Event
Disability Sports Australia invites children living with a sensory, physical or intellectual disability to the free Variety Abilities Unleashed - Kids.
The event is designed to provide children with disabilities aged 5-18 with the opportunity to experience sports in a positive, safe, and inclusive environment. Participants will be encouraged and empowered to explore local adaptive sport and recreation opportunities.
This event is proudly supported by Variety the Children's Charity - Victoria and MatchWorks, and presented by Disability Sports Australia and Brimbank City Council.
How the day will look
Participants will be split into smaller class groups upon registration. After a welcome at 10 AM, they will rotate across 4-6 stations. These activities will consist of sport and active recreation with the use of adaptive equipment to suit the participants. The stations will be facilitated by specialised coaches with the support of students and community organisations.
